Terms & Conditions

The terms, without the fog.

These terms are the agreement between you and Maverick Overland Co. ("Maverick," "we," "us") for using maverickculinary.com, the chef portal at apply.maverickculinary.com, and the Maverick text message program. Using any of them means you accept these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the platform. Effective date: July 20, 2026.

1. What Maverick is

A collective, not an employer.

Maverick Culinary Collective connects working culinary professionals with food and beverage brands for paid product testing, feedback, and content work. Membership is application-based and open to culinary professionals aged 18 and over. Each paid opportunity has its own scope, deliverables, and payout, all shown before a chef claims it.

Chefs participate as independent professionals. Nothing here creates an employment, agency, partnership, or joint-venture relationship between a chef and Maverick, or between a chef and a brand. You are responsible for your own taxes on what you earn.

2. Your account

Yours to keep, yours to guard.

You agree that the information you give us is true and current, and you'll keep it current. The chef portal signs you in through single-use links sent to your email or phone, so keep access to those secure and don't forward your login links to anyone. You're responsible for activity under your account. Tell us right away if you think someone else has gotten in: messagemaverick@maverickoverlandco.com.

3. Campaigns and payment

Claim the work, do the work, get paid.

Opportunities are offered to members and claimed on a first-come basis or by request, as each campaign specifies. Claiming a campaign means committing to its deliverables and deadline. Individual campaigns may have their own written agreement; where a campaign agreement and these terms conflict, the campaign agreement controls for that campaign.

Payouts are made in the amount and manner each campaign states, after the chef's work is submitted and approved and after the sponsoring brand's payment for that campaign has cleared to Maverick. If a brand fails to pay, we'll tell you plainly and work it out with you. Approval of submitted work is judged in good faith against the campaign's stated requirements. We don't charge chefs to join or to claim work.

4. Text message program

Maverick Culinary Collective SMS.

By providing your phone number on the chef application and agreeing to receive texts, you consent to receive recurring text messages from Maverick Culinary Collective about your membership: paid opportunity offers, deadline reminders, shipment and delivery check-ins, submission confirmations, and payment updates. You can also text us and a member of the team will reply.

Message frequency varies with your campaign activity. Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile plan. Consent to receive texts is not a condition of membership or of any purchase.

Reply STOP to cancel at any time; you'll receive one confirmation message and nothing further. Reply HELP for help, or email messagemaverick@maverickoverlandco.com. Supported carriers include the major U.S. carriers, and carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

How we handle your number is in our Privacy Policy. Short version: your mobile information and opt-in consent are never shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

5. Your content and its use

Your work stays yours. You grant the license the work needs.

You keep ownership of the photos, feedback, and other content you submit. When you submit content for a campaign, you grant Maverick and that campaign's brand a license to use it for the purposes described in that campaign (which typically includes the brand's marketing and Maverick showing the work as a result). The scope of that license is set by the campaign agreement; outside that scope, your work is yours.

You promise that what you submit is your own, that you have the right to share it, and that it doesn't infringe anyone else's rights or break any law. Don't submit content that's unlawful, deceptive, or that you were paid by someone else to place.

6. Acceptable use

Don't break the thing we're all using.

Don't submit false applications or impersonate anyone. Don't scrape, probe, or attempt to access accounts, data, or systems that aren't yours. Don't interfere with the platform's operation or security, and don't use it for anything unlawful. We may suspend or remove accounts that do any of these, and we may decline or reverse a payout for work obtained through fraud or a serious breach of these terms.

7. Our brand and platform

What's ours stays ours.

The Maverick name, logo, website, portal, and the software and content we create are owned by Maverick Overland Co. and protected by law. Using the platform doesn't give you any right to our marks or code beyond using the service as intended.

8. Warranties, liability, and disputes

As-is. The platform is provided "as is" and "as available." We work hard to keep it accurate, secure, and running, but to the fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim implied warranties and don't guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

Limit of liability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Maverick Overland Co. is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential damages, or for lost profits, even if advised such damages were possible. Our total aggregate liability to you for any and all claims relating to the platform is limited to the greater of the total amounts owed or paid to you under campaigns in the six months before the claim arose, or one hundred dollars ($100). Some states don't allow certain limits, in which case those limits apply only as far as the law allows.

Governing law. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Texas, and you and Maverick agree to that venue.

Indemnity. If your content or your misuse of the platform causes a third-party claim against Maverick, you agree to cover the reasonable costs of defending it, to the extent the claim results from your actions.

9. Ending things, and changes

Either side can walk. We'll tell you if the terms change.

You can leave the collective anytime by emailing us. We may suspend or end access for a breach of these terms, or wind the service down with notice to members. Ending your membership doesn't erase obligations already earned, like a payout owed for approved work, or a license already granted for content used in a completed campaign.

We may update these terms as the platform evolves. The effective date at the top always reflects the current version, and we'll notify members of material changes before they take effect. Continuing to use the platform after a change means you accept the updated terms.
