Your information, handled straight.
This policy explains what we collect, why, who touches it, and the control you keep. It covers maverickculinary.com, the chef portal at apply.maverickculinary.com, and our text and email programs, all operated by Maverick Overland Co. ("Maverick," "we," "us"). Plain language on purpose. Effective date: July 20, 2026.
Questions, corrections, or requests about anything here: messagemaverick@maverickoverlandco.com. A real person answers.
Only what running the collective requires.
Information you give us. When a chef applies to the collective: name, email address, phone number, location, restaurant or workplace, professional bio, social media handles, a headshot, and a mailing address for product shipments. When a chef participates in a campaign: the photos, written feedback, links, and answers they choose to submit. When anyone texts or emails us: the content of those messages and the number or address they came from. When a brand works with us: business contact information and campaign details.
Information collected automatically. The portal uses a login session cookie so you stay signed in; that is the only cookie we set, and it exists purely to keep your session working. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) generates standard server logs, including IP addresses and browser type, which we use only for security and keeping the service running.
What we don't do. No advertising trackers. No analytics pixels following you around the internet. We do not buy data about you from anyone, and we do not combine your information with outside data sources.
To run the work, pay the people, and nothing else.
We use your information to review applications and manage membership; to match chefs with paid opportunities and send notifications about that work (offers, deadlines, shipment and delivery updates, submission confirmations, payment status) by text and email; to ship product to chefs; to process payouts and keep the payment records the tax authorities require; to respond when you contact us; to keep the platform secure; and to meet legal obligations.
Chef-submitted campaign content (photos, feedback, links) is shared with that campaign's brand. That is the work product, and it is the reason the chef gets paid. Approved chefs who opt into the public roster appear on our website with the profile they provided; that choice can be reversed at any time by emailing us.
Your number stays with us. Period.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with, sold to, or transferred to any third party. Our SMS provider processes messages solely to deliver them on our behalf.
You opt into texts by providing your phone number on the chef application and agreeing to receive messages from Maverick Culinary Collective. Message frequency varies with your campaign activity. Message and data rates may apply. Consent to receive texts is never a condition of membership or of any purchase.
Reply STOP to any message to end all texts (you'll get one confirmation and then silence). Reply HELP for help. Opting out of texts does not end your membership; work notifications simply switch to email. Full program terms live in our Terms & Conditions.
Service providers under contract, brands you chose, and no one else.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with anyone for their own marketing. We do not share it for targeted advertising. Those three sentences stay true in every scenario below.
Campaign brands. When a chef claims a campaign, that brand receives the chef's submitted work and the profile details needed to run the campaign (like name and general location). Brands receive mailing addresses only as needed to ship product for a campaign the chef opted into.
Service providers. A small, named set, each doing one job under contract, each barred from using your data for anything else: Cloudflare (hosting, storage, security), Twilio (text message delivery), and Resend (email delivery).
Legal and safety. We may disclose information if the law genuinely requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of chefs, brands, or the platform.
Business changes. If Maverick is ever acquired or merged, your information transfers with the business, bound by this policy's commitments, and you'll be notified.
While you're with us, plus what the law requires.
We keep membership information while you're an active member of the collective. If you leave or ask us to delete your data, we delete it, with two exceptions: records of completed campaign payments, which accounting and tax law require us to keep, and information we need to honor your opt-out (keeping your number on the do-not-text list requires remembering the number).
Built like we mean it.
All traffic to our sites is encrypted in transit. The chef portal has no passwords to steal: login works through single-use, expiring links, and we store only cryptographic hashes of login tokens, never the tokens themselves. Access to member data is limited to the Maverick team members who need it to run the collective. No system is unbreakable and we won't pretend otherwise, but if a breach ever affects your data, we will tell you promptly and plainly.
Leave anytime, take your data with you.
Anyone, in any state, can email us to access the information we hold about them, correct it, get a copy of it, or delete it: messagemaverick@maverickoverlandco.com. We respond within 30 days, we verify it's really you before acting, and we never treat you worse for exercising these rights.
Residents of Texas, California, Colorado, and other states with consumer privacy laws have these rights by statute, including the right to opt out of the sale of personal data or its use in targeted advertising. We do neither, so there is nothing to opt out of, but the request channel above works all the same, and you may appeal any decision we make by replying to it.
Text messages: reply STOP. Public roster listing: email us and it comes down. Email: work notifications are part of membership, and you can end membership whenever you like.
This is a professional platform.
The collective is for working culinary professionals aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18, and we delete it if we learn we have.
If it changes, you'll know.
The effective date at the top always reflects the current version. If we make a material change to how we handle your information, we'll notify members directly (by the same text and email channels we use for everything else) before it takes effect. We will never quietly weaken the commitments in section 3 or section 4.
